Santorini differs from all other Cyclades islands by its strange shape and geological structure: from about 3500 years ago the massive island volcano erupted and left behind

To rebuild a circle of bizarre crater walls and to plow what was left of farmland. Today, white villages cling to rugged black lava and vines thrive on gray volcanic ash.

'Kalliste' was called Santorini in antiquity, 'the most beautiful'. And perhaps the real miracle after her injury is this metamorphosis, which today - seen with different eyes - makes her appear as the 'most beautiful' in some of her incomparable panoramas.
